Notarikon is an ancient Hebrew technique of creating acronyms from the first or last letters of consecutive words. This tool helps you discover these patterns throughout the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible).

Search for any Hebrew letter sequence, and the system will find all occurrences where consecutive words form that pattern, for example שלום ‘peace’ can be found in לשבורי לב ומחבש ‘to the heartbroken and He binds up’ in the verse "He heals the heartbroken, and binds up their wounds." Ps 147:3

For the Library, the AI ​​analyzes whether the abbreviation entered in the search field makes sense, i.e., whether the abbreviation itself forms a word. Only abbreviations that make sense and, moreover, appear uniquely in the entire Tanakh or in the Torah are included in the Library.

In the menu Word Search a Tanakh word search is attached. It allows to find all the verses that contain e.g. the word שלום ‘peace’ as such but also as spanning over 2 words like for example in ומשלו מים ‘and his rule from sea’ like in: "He shall speak peace to the nations and his rule shall extend from sea to sea [...]", Zech 9:10. Even for phrases can be searched.

Throughout the website applies: when in the Tanakh word variants exist, called Qere and Ketiv, the Ketiv ‘written form’ is taken into account.
